Wallimage Coproductions
Each year, Wallimage co-finances around fifty Belgian or international works (co-produced in Belgium) that showcase the talents and audiovisual companies of our region!
Co-productions in Wallonia
A €6.5M fund
Wallimage has €6.5 million available each year to support various types of audiovisual works.
This fund, created in 2001 by Wallonia, which has financed it ever since, operates according to a selective mechanism of conditional participation in the financing ofaudiovisual works presented by independent Belgian production companies.
Wallimage co-finances works that involve structuring audiovisual expenditure in Wallonia.

Wallimage Coproductions
The general philosophy of the fund is to generate a structuring effect on the audiovisual industry in Wallonia, for the benefit of the entire European film industry.
The fund is open to all types and formats of cinematographic, television or streaming platform works likely to enrich the cultural heritage of the co-producing nations or regions.
Excluded are works that incite violence or racial hatred, or are contrary to public order or morality.
Since 2021, producers have been obliged to integrate a process of reflection and concrete measures to reduce the environmental impact of their productions.
Procedure
Have you been a producer for at least a year and are you planning to spend money in Wallonia on technicians, actors or in the audiovisual industry?
Do these expenses exceed 300K€ (75K€ for a documentary) and more than 30% of your financing has been secured?
Then you’re probably ready to submit a project for one of our five funding sessions via our application.
These sessions are generally held in January, March, June, September and November.
Each dossier is analyzed from various economic angles (quality of Walloon expenditure, personnel and companies involved, commercial potential of the project, etc.), the green investment of the production, the history of the producer…
The result is an internal session rating and ranking.
As each session is competitive in its own right, the best projects are selected up to the limit of the available investment sum.
It is advisable to contact the co-production manager before submitting any project.

LM/Series Development
Wallimpact: an economic development fund for audiovisual projects.
Our aim is to support producers in an often costly development phase that could enable them to direct a work towards a potentially larger audience, in Belgium and abroad.
To enable this kind of qualitative progress, we need to be able to pay good scriptwriters, co-writers and relevant script doctors, set up targeted economic feasibility and marketing studies, and develop professional pre-posters and hard-hitting teasers to tackle international markets head-on. That’s where we come in, to support project leaders with this fund, partly financed by co-production revenues.
Wallimpact is supported by Wallimage Entreprises, which underlines its ambition and its purely economic dimension. It is based on two annual sessions. Belgian producers can submit a file, which will be analyzed and discussed by a jury made up of Wallimage members, as well as outside professionals, who will give priority to examining the commercial potential of the files submitted.
At the end of our deliberations, one or two projects will be boosted with an investment of between €50 and €100K per project.
This is an advance that is conditionally recoverable when the project goes into production.

Is there a pilot?
Since 2017, Wallimage has been co-financing pilots for flow television works (unscripted programs).
This involves granting a conditionally recoverable advance to a producer to enable him or her to put into images a concept that will have been judged original and promising.
This investment must be entirely spent in Wallonia with technicians or companies specialized in the audiovisual sector.
Since 2022, Wallimage has partnered with two of themain French-speaking national broadcasters to boost this line, and now organizes a call for projects with RTBF and a call for projects with RTL Belgium.

They are analyzed according to a specific approach in order to understand their economic impact, the contribution they make to the technicians and companies that produce them, and their potential for exploitation.
